Salt Bagels- simple yet totally amazing!

I had my first Salt Bagel yesterday in Atlanta. It was amazing!! It was served toasted with goat cheese and garlic. I have a new favorite bagel- that is what I get for trying something new. lol! I am going to be thinking of reasons to go to ATL so I can get another. Should have gotten some to go and eaten them for lunch this week. Next time! :)

Bad Weather Blues!

We had some really bad weather come through Friday night in the South. Here is a pic of my mom's yard and some of the damage done to a tree. A tornado touched down briefly a few miles from there but thankfully no one was hurt.

The Flowers are Exploding!

After we had that crazy snowstorm, I was wondering when all the tree would bloom. The were delayed a couple week (and totally missed our wedding mind you) but they are blooming like crazy now. The Dogwood trees, the Azalea flowers, and Cherry Trees are so pretty!

My favorite thing to do lately has been to stand under a Cherry Tree by the post office and shake it and have some the petals fall down all around me! I am loving Spring!

Addicted to Pomegranates

My latest obsession has been with the ready to eat pomegranate seeds they sell at Publix. They come in a bowl in the fruit section by the expensive juices. The little bright red pomegranate seeds are ready to just pop in your mouth like an afternoon snack (just be careful of scarlet stained fingers). I love them sweet and tart flavor. If I get home before dark tonight, I might walk to Publix and get some more! Yum!

Cheers to the New Year!

J and I spent a couple relaxing and fun days in Dahlonega, GA. We stayed at Cedar House Inn and Yurts. We hiked Blood Mountain but we also visited many waterfalls. I managed to get a couple good pictures before my camera died. Pictures of the summit would have been nice. The hike was great and the weather was perfect for it (very sunny and dry). We got to see ice on the top. We also passed a cool shelter built by the CCC.

We stayed in a room at the inn but we also checked out the yurts (so cool!). For our next visit, we are going to stay in a yurt. J really liked the yurts. I had heard of yurts before but I had never seen one up close. It was much bigger than I thought but it still seemed nice and cozy. Our room at the inn had low flow showerheads. They were great and we are even thinking of getting them in our home. The eco-friendly inn made me think about using recycled paper for my gift tags.

The Inn's owners, Fred and Mary Beth were very attentive and wonderful to chat with. They even built a fire in the Chimenea for New Years Eve for all to enjoy. Mary Beth's cooking is amazing! We talked about her delicious breakfast on through the afternoon. When it was time to head home, it was like leaving from visiting with good friends. I cannot wait to go back.

New Stuff Coming Up

I will be putting out many new things in my Etsy shop in the next week. Maybe even in the next 2 weeks. I am working on adding fall colors to my shop.

The weather here is in the 3 digits but somewhere it is bound to be fall soon. It is my favorite time of the year!

Kyanite for the Masses

The bead market over the weekend was very fruitful. I have many new beads and ideas. I spent a little too much and I stocked up on a couple different stones that I fell in love with. I figure if it makes me happy it might do the same for others.

Things I bought:

Apatite (I have been wanting this forever and I am so glad to finally have some. I got some for creating and some for me!)
Chalcedony (Beautiful cuts and colors. I cannot wait to work with it.)
Amethyst
Peridot (Such a lovely green color)
Labradorite (I have never seen teardrop like the ones I bought. I think they are amazing. They have great depth.)
Kyanite (I got green and blue Kyanite in all shapes and sizes. It is suppose to calm you and goodness know I need that. I figured I was not the only one that needed some calming!)
Chryophase (Such unique and wonderful stones, very pricey though)
Chrysocolla (This is turquoise all grown up. Gorgeous. They are Josh's favorite stone I have.)
Moss Agate (Always good for winter)
Carnelian (Perfect for fall)
More Amazonite (Can you really ever have enough?)
Green Turquoise (Classic)
Blue Jade (A little funky. I like it.)
Blue Goldstone and Goldstone (Disco fever forever)

and even more stuff. Now if I could get the time to make stuff...

Five new items!

I posted five new things last night! I came home after I left work and started snapping photos. I only had an 20 minutes of good daylight left. I managed get some ok shots but I may need to take some over because they are too dark.

I have several new designs I hope to get on esty tomorrow. I been waiting all week to have the time.
